Sussex Modern: the kick-off

The exhibition at Two Temple Place, London traces the thread of modernism that connects Sussex with artists, writers and designers of the 20th century who chose the county as a place of inspiration and often as a home or retreat. The Arts Council backed show, curated by Dr Hope Wolf of the University of Sussex, opens the door for Sussex Modern, an initiative to promote and celebrate the county’s contribution to modern British culture. The nine collaborating museums and galleries form a constellation of places to visit and experience modern and contemporary British artforms.

Working with Clare Playne of Playne Design I have helped put together some of the initial material that promise to lead to further opportunities to tell the Sussex Modern story. See: www.sussexmodern.org.uk
