Summer in London has been enlivened by the blue cockerel that now graces the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square. The work of German artist Katharina Fritsch, it takes a swipe at the heroic male statues that populate the square, Whitehall and beyond. Big, bold and blue (Yves Klein blue, no less) the cock strikes a Gallic repost to Nelson and the rest. Bravo!
